Seduction On Trial

An essay by Sean Bw Parker - narrated by Professor Jeffrey Ketland

“Increasingly, the only news that people were prepared to believe was bad. Good news was seen as political spin, scientific news was seen as nanny-state overzealousness, and it's all seen as entertainment in the end by its gatekeepers, its edges sanded down to ensure the audience doesn't have nightmares but instead keeps watching, ready for the next instalment. There was in fact no turning off any more. The media was our worst selves looking back at us; that's why we're so addicted, and also why we don't feel that much spiritual progress when we spend too long with/in front of it.”
